Dr B Premkumar graduated from the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in 1996 and completed his Masters in Surgery from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in 2000. He then left for the UK and obtained a Masters in minimal access surgery at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School affiliated to the University of Dundee – Scotland, UK where he was one of the first three Indians to have received the degree.
Dr B Premkumar is one of the pioneers of single incision laparoscopy in India and performed the first ever single incision inguinal hernia repair.
